Why Volunteer?
Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer. The right match can help you to find friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career.
Giving to others can also help protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose.
And, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day. Giving in even simple ways can help those in need and improve your health and happiness.
Current Volunteering Opportunities
Furniture Bank
The St Vincent De Paul Furniture Bank collects pre-loved furniture kindly donated by members of the public and distribute it to families in need.
The scheme also re-cycles pre-loved furniture and provides a valuable environmental benefit to our community.

Delivery Team
Looking for something enjoyable to do in your spare time, get out and meet people? Would you like to help people in Leyland and get fulfilment at the same time?
You would be providing your community with a very valuable service.
If so, why not become a member of our Delivery Team crew?
We deliver FREE FURNITURE to people in need across South Ribble.
We currently need able bodied women and men who can collect and deliver furniture for the scheme. We normally have 2 runs per week lasting 2 to 3 hours per time.
There is no regular commitment and volunteers work when it’s convenient for them.

In addition, we also have vacancies for the following roles which are each managed by a rota of team members:
